If you miss a dose, skip the missed dose and take the next dose at your regular time. Do not take 2 doses at the same time to try to make up a missed dose.

Taking Trulance in applesauce
  1. Crush the Trulance tablet in a clean container until it is a powder
  2. Mix with 1 teaspoon of room temperature applesauce
  3. Swallow all of the Trulance and applesauce mixture right away. Do not keep the Trulance and applesauce mixture for future use
Dissolving Trulance in water
  1. Place the Trulance tablet in a clean cup and pour 1 ounce (30 mL) of room temperature water into the cup
  2. Gently swirl the Trulance tablet and water for 10 seconds, or until the Trulance tablet falls apart
  3. Swallow all of the Trulance tablet and water mixture right away. Do not keep the mixture for future use
  4. If you see any part of the tablet left in the cup, add another 1 ounce (30 mL) of water to the cup, swirl for at least 10 seconds, and swallow right away

Take Trulance by mouth, 1 time each day—with or without food, or exactly as your doctor tells you to take Trulance.

Before you take Trulance, tell your doctor:

  • If you have any other medical conditions.
  • If you are pregnant or plan to become pregnant. It is not known if Trulance will harm your unborn baby.
  • If you are breastfeeding or plan to breastfeed. It is not known if Trulance passes into your breast milk. Talk with your doctor about the best way to feed your baby if you take Trulance.
  • About all the medicines you take, including prescription and over-the-counter medicines, vitamins, and herbal supplements.

What are the common side effects of Trulance?

Diarrhea is the most common side effect and can sometimes be severe. Diarrhea often begins within the first 4 weeks of Trulance treatment. Stop taking Trulance and call your doctor right away if you get severe diarrhea.
